  • 1. What is Bisnis PNG?
    Bisnis PNG is the largest online business platform or website in PNG that connects businesses and people to opportunities. At the back end of Bisnis PNG platform, it runs a Supplier Management Portal (SMP) where PNG businesses or companies and candidates can register and seek businesses and job opportunities from Project Developers, major contractors, and other large organizations in PNG. It is a preferred one-stop shop to enables easy access to capacity building services, promotes business to business networking, supports local content participation and stakeholders’ communications & engagements.
  • 2. What is SMP?
    The Supplier Management Portal (SMP) is an online platform that allows registration of businesses and companies as suppliers. It allows bigger organisations to register as a Buyers. It is designed to facilitate connections between buyers and suppliers across Papua New Guinea. A buyer can have access to a vast network of suppliers offering a diverse range of services. Alternatively, suppliers can leverage on SMP to showcase their potential and services to potential buyers, and among suppliers.
  • 3. How can I register My Company as a Supplier at the SMP?
    To register your company as a supplier is very easy; 1st: Click on the "Supplier Registration" under Registration page on this website. 2nd: Click on the "Register Here" button. It then takes you to the SMP. 3rd: Create a user account by filling the available fields. Once you click "Submit" it will take you back to the BISNIS PNG website. 4th: At the website, go to the "Login" page, then click "Login" under "Supplier". Use the credentials you have used to create your user account to login. 5th: Once you are logged in, fill the few fields or click "Next" and it takes you to your SMP dashboard. 6th: At the dashboard, you are provided with five (5) main function areas at the bottom; "Profile", "Maintenance", "Notice", "Buyer" and "Admin Notice". First, click on the "Profile", then click "Edit" at the top-left corner. Here, you fill all the fields required and maintain a better profile. Your Profile Completion percentage is shown at the dashboard.
  • 4. Is there any fees charged for registering as a Supplier?
    No. Supplier can register free of charge.
  • 5. Can registered suppliers customize their profiles on the SMP platform? If so, what kind of information can they include?
    Yes, registered suppliers can edit and customize their profiles on the SMP platform anytime.
  • 6. Are there any specific criteria or qualifications that suppliers must meet in order to register on the SMP platform?
    It is compulsory for any business to provide or register with IPA Certificate, Tax Identification Number (TIN) and basic profile containing brief information about the company. Other required fields will be indicated as you follow through the registration process.
  • 7. How does the SMP verify the credentials and qualifications of registered suppliers?
    The SMP verifies the credentials and qualifications of registered suppliers through a rigorous screening process, which may involve document verification, reference checks, and site visits if necessary.
  • 8. What measures does the SMP take to promote transparency and fair competition among registered suppliers?
    The SMP promotes transparency and fair competition among registered suppliers by providing equal opportunity for all qualified suppliers to showcase their services and by implementing measures to prevent unfair practices such as price fixing or collusion.
  • 9. How can I register as a Buyer?
    1st: Click on "Buyer Registration" in the sub-menu under "Registration" page on this website. 2nd: Click on "Register Here". It takes you to the "Buyer Registration Form". 3rd: Fill all the available fields and, tick the necessary boxes and click "Submit". 4th: Once submitted, the Primary and Secondary persons nominated on the Buyer Subscription Form will receive an email notification stating the form is under management review - pending approval.
  • 10. Is there any fees charged for registering as a Buyer on the SMP?
    Depending on your need and interest, a workplan will be discussed between the buyer and IBBM to agree for mutual benefits.
  • 11. Can buyers on the SMP platform provide feedback or reviews about suppliers they have worked with? If so, how is this feedback managed and utilized?
    Yes, the buyers on the SMP platform can provide feedback or reviews about suppliers they have worked with. This feedback is managed and utilized to assess supplier performance, improve service quality, and implement other capacity building programs to also, help other buyers make informed decisions when selecting suppliers.
  • 12. What kind of support or assistance does the SMP provide to buyers and suppliers who encounter issues or challenges while using the platform?
    The SMP provides dedicated support to users encountering issues or challenges. This support may include technical assistance and guidance on platform usage.
